I did not find clogging to be a problem with this steel grinder, but it may depend on the meat you are grinding and the state you keep your blades in. The main advantage of this product, compared to the KitcheAid original, is being dish washer safe

We bought it specifically for our caribou meat. Worked absolutely awesome!! ICH'm grateful we chose the higher end grinder though for our kitchenaid unit.
