Choosing the Right Aerial Hoop Size
Determining the Size of the Aerial Acrobatic Hoop
Size is measured by the vertical internal diameter of the hoop. But how do you determine the right size for you?
Here are 3 methods to help you find the correct size:
1. Sit in a chair and measure the distance from the seat to the top of your head. Add 5.08 cm (2 inches) to get your size!
2. Sit in a chair and put your hand on top of your head to form a fist. The measurement from the top of your hand to the seat is your ideal size!
3. Another method is to measure the length of your foot and lean forward until your body forms a right angle. The distance from the floor to your waist is the appropriate size for the hoop.
What is the Proper Height?
Acrobatics can be performed on the hoop whether it hangs low or high off the floor. However, a low ceiling may limit your movements.
