Canada celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding in 1967 with a grand party that welcomed the entire world. Montreal’s Expo 67, the first world’s fair in Canada, was a massive success, drawing in over 50 million visitors. Situated on two man-made islands in the St. Lawrence River, the 1,000-acre site featured 90 innovative pavilions designed by some of the world’s top architects and designers. With representation from over 60 countries, as well as numerous private, corporate, and thematic pavilions, the event was united under the theme “Man and his World.” Boasting a wide array of performers, restaurants, cultural attractions, exhibitions, and an elite amusement park, Expo 67 lived up to its reputation as the event of the century, surpassing all expectations.
