Bouzouki

Michael Terzis is a prominent contemporary Greek composer who studied piano and music theory at the Macedonian Conservatory in Thessaloniki and in Athens with A. Ainian and K. Chronopoulos. Beginning his music career in 1973, Terzis performed piano and songs by Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadijdakis, New Wave, and his original compositions at music theaters in Athens’ historic district under the Acropolis. He recorded his first piece in 1976 using the lyrics of renowned Greek poet Yannis Ritsos. Terzis’ works have been performed and recorded by some of the most famous Greek musicians worldwide, showcasing diverse instrumental Greek music that reflects the beauty and pride of the nation. This release highlights new and authentic bouzouki music by Michalis Terzis.
